Story behind the song
Maestro Antonio L. Fabella is one of the best dancers and choreographers in the Philippines. He is a graduate of BS Chemical Engineering but decided to heed the "call" of DANCE.
He was instrumental in the formation of some of the Philippines' premiere dance companies and have starred in various major dance productions in the late 60's. In 1970 (The year I was born!), he decided to retire from dancing and ventured into choreography. Thirty-eight years have passed and he is still producing magnificent dances after another.
He is one of the kindest and purest souls one could ever encounter on God's earth! He inspires me so much and on February 29, 2008... I sat down and after around thirty minutes, I came up with "Pamana ng Sayaw at Pag-ibig".
This song is for Tony Fabella... My MAESTRO!!!

Lyrics
PAMANA NG SAYAW AT PAG-IBIG
Intro:
Minsan, tila ibig sumuko ng pusong pagal
Nakakapagod rin ang malugmok nang kaytagal
Nagpupumilit bumangon, hinaharap bawat paghamon
Chorus I:
(Repeat CHORUS I)
INSTRUMENTAL
CHORUS II:

Some phrases can not be accurately translated into English. This is the rough English Interpretation of the lyrics:
A LEGACY OF DANCE AND LOVE
Sometimes, the weary heart would want to give up
Im tired of being down-trodden for so long.
I attempt to rise up and face all the challenges
But times can, indeed, be very cruel
Before, it seemed like the sun was shrouded
But God sent an emissary to bring light
You defeated the darkness with your pure heart
Every dance that you made lighted up our path.
CHORUS I:
Please let me give tribute to you
You are the one who makes these feet dance
Please let me dance for you
So that you will know that I love you so much.
Up to now, you still continue sowing love
As a servant for the arts, you never stopped creating
All those moves which you wove together made Inang Bayan (Country) dance.
Your legacies and wisdom will never ever fade.
CHORUS II:
Look at me now, my wings are so strong!
Because of you, I can fly far and wide!
Please let me dance for you
So that you will know My strength comes from you!
