This song is a spoken-word narrative and serves as an ethereal ambient interlude in between "Nice, Clean Jesus" and "Pour Your Blood on Me" in the Passion Trilogy". In this song, Pilgrim explains why he wanted a nice, clean Jesus. He explains that the scenes from the "Passion of the Christ" movie and the song "Nothing but the blood of Jesus" were playing over and over in his and about to drive him crazy until' he had a vision of Christ on the cross, and he looked beyond the blood and the gore, and saw the love in his eyes which beckoned pilgrim to come to Christ on the cross. AS he embraced Christ on the cross, the blood of Christ began to pour all over Pilgrim, covering him with the blood of the lamb. This began a complete change and transformation in "Pilgrim". This song explains "Nice, Clean Jesus" some and sets up the final song in the trilogy: "Pour your blood on me".
side notes: This was the quickest song that we recorded. Most of the songs took hours and hours as Mark and I worked together. We would first start with me giving Mark a c.d. of a similiar song to give him an idea of what I had in mind. Then we would work together, and Mark would lay down the lead guitar, acoustic(If needed), rhythm guitar, keyboards, drum programs, percussion, and multiple tracks of his background vocals, and then he would spend countless hours mixing and engineering and finalizing.
We didn't have to go through all that in "Vision of the Passion". First, we listened to some clips of ehtereal ambient artists "Exuviae" to give Mark an idea of what I had in mind for the song. Then Mark found similiar pads and sounds on the keyboard. And then, I did the narrative with Mark playing keyboard all at the same time. When we finished Mark added some more pads, and the next day later our executive director Frank Wilson of Clean Cut Studio, suggested adding a little of the hymn "Nothing but the Blood of Jesus" on the end. The actual recording of Mark and myself together just took a few minutes; This was the only song where I didn't have to do upteen takes of my vocals; first one was it!!! This was our first experiment with using ethereal ambient music, and our first spoken word narrative. Let us know what you tink.

lyrics:
I saw that movie. All the blood and the gore it was about to drive me insain; and that song- that song from the few times I had attended church as a child. That song: "Nothing but the blood of Jesus". Scenes from the movie and that song began to play over and over in my head, it was driving me insain; and then one night as I fought it off to get some sleep; right before I could fall asleep: I saw a vision. And I saw Christ on the Cross. Yes, I saw the bloody , gorey Crist; but this time I saw something that I had missed bfore. I looked straight into his eyes and I saw the love; I saw the love coming from his eyes, and it called me, beckoned me to come to him. Then I did something... something I just can't explain. I reached out and embraced him. I embraced the bloody gory Christ on the cross, yes me the same man who had rejected him, the same man that wanted a nice, clean Jesus. And as I embraced my bloody , gory savior as he died for my sins, his blood began to pour all over my body; ungulfing my body in his blood. And as it did, something deep, deep within me began to happen to me. The only way I can call it or explain it is: a transformation which happened deep within my soul and spirit man.
