Story behind the song
Alex: It was the first track Dave gave me to work on for the project it became a strong song even if it took me some time to finish it. Dave came with the title and idea of “Dragging me down", I have to agree that it was a brilliant idea because it gave me the chance to talk about “worthless relationships”, lol, that the majority of us go through. I think almost everyone can relate to this song at one time or the other in life, when feelings get mixed up between love and hate and make us take good or bad decisions. I’m not saying that hate is healthy, only the opposite. I’m sure only Love can change the world for good but hate can result in chaos and destruction too. To me we live everyday in the middle of these 2 opposites. This song is an example of how a conflict of this nature can make a storm of confusion inside and drive us to extremes like the jungian concepts would say. I wanted to talk about it and Dave made the first attempt suggesting it and I have to give him credit for that. About the music, the drums specially resemble Led Zeppelin all over it. Definatly it was something that atracted me to try to write it. Keyboards here are a work of art and Jose's guitars make the angry statement so clearly. Great work!
