Story behind the song
This piece was written for a full band but after the band dissolved, it was decided to do it track by track. It comes out 'power pop' because...that's where most of the band members came from. :)
The piano was recorded phrase-at-a-time because I'm not a keyboard player by nature.
The guitar-solo was actually manually 'lifted' from an earlier version of the song - a more demo version - put onto a separate tape and then manually 'started' at approximately the same point and punched in. A different solo was done over a year later, specifically for this version but the earlier solo was preferred. You can still hear the 'rest' of the newer solo toward the end of the tune, way in the background and call-response with the singer.
