DESCENDANTS OF ASAPH Asaph was the first and chief musician in the early days before the temple was built in Jerusalem. By all accounts (1Chron 16v5) he was a percussionist and drummer and together with Heman and Jeduthun formed the first worship band to accompany the choir in praise and worship of God He wrote a number of psalm lyrics under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His lyrics are very down to earth and he likes to say things exactly as they are! 'Descendants of Asaph' follow in his tradition and is a virtual band dedicated to making music and song unto the Lord and presenting His challenge to the world today through parables in music. Lyrics
Pslam 127 Unless the Lord Unless the Lord builds the house and lays the foundation the workers labour in vain Unless the Lord guards the city watching over it's gates the sentries are posted in vain It is futile for you to work so hard anxious to earn your keep for the Lord will provide for those whom He loves while they slumber deep in their sleep Unless the Lord builds the house and lays the foundation the workers labour in vain Unless the Lord guards the city watching over it's gates the sentries guard it in vain Children are a heritage a gift from the Lord the fruit of the womb His reward like arrows in the hand of a warrior are children born in our youth How joyful the man whose quiver is full he will never be put to shame when he stands before his enemies in the court by the city gates
