Formed in the summer of 2002 in Atlanta, Georgia, MourningStar quickly got to work on recording their 1st release. A self-titled 6 song EP was recorded in September at Ledbelly Sound Studio. The self-titled release hit the local scene hard and fast proving and showing the bands momentum. Rapidly making a name for themselves, MourningStar started playing with national acts, such as Pennywise, Stretch Arm Strong, Madcaddies, Salem, New Miss, Tilt, 7-10 Split, Off the Record, Nuclear Saturday, One Man Army, Dogwood, Shai Hullud, Never Heard of It, Burns Out Bright, and the list goes on. Proving that they were here to stay, MourningStars talent and creativity began to explode. As the band began to appear on numerous compilations and extreme videos they knew that a full length album was long over due. To follow up on their successful self-titled release, MourningStar record a full length album at Fireball Sound Studio with national acclaimed Produce Marc Mclusky in the summer of 2003. With several labels already in talks with MourningStar to release their debut full length album, Distrato, Falcom Records picked up the band to bring them to the next level and give them the attention and fan base that this exceptionally gifted band deserves so badly.Your musical influences
