Mister Naked Happy originated in late 1999 in Huntington Beach, Ca. The five piece Alt/Rock band has been playing shows all over Southern California developing a devoted following with their varying music style. Influenced by such musicians/artists as Bowie, Deftones, Kaja Goo Goo and Phyllis Diller, Mister Naked Happy see 2003 as their year to reach the masses.
Band/artist history
We started out as Spankrag in Huntington Beach, CA. (1999) and then made some changes (Members/name) and ended up as Mister Naked Happy. We've been friends longer than we've been bandmates which I believe keeps a solid core for the band and helps the songwriting/practice atmosphere.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We've played many gigs in the So. Cal Area icluding: Blockbuster Pavilion, The Coconut Teaszer, The Roxy, The Crossroads Theatre and many others. Every moment is a special moment onstage. One day I jump onstage and our singer comes out dressed as an old man, the next he's dressed as the Queen of England. It's entertainment.
Your musical influences
Deftones, Helmet, Bowie, The Who, Pink Floyd, System, Morrissey, Snow Monkey Plum, Gene Loves Jezebel, John Vanderslice, Tony Orlando, Bobby Brady and the Rugburns.
What equipment do you use?
Guitars, drums, and bass.
