Miss Jaye, born Jessica Nicole Phillips, is a beautiful, multi-talented 19 year old with the voice of a songbird. A native of Houston, TX, she has studied music and instruments since the tender age of five. Receiving awards and praise from her peers and instructors alike, being voted the Most Outstanding Band member and Most Outstanding Instrumentalist throughout her years in elementary and middle school.
These accolades along with her sound background in music theory, gained her acceptance to the prestigious High School of Performing and Visual Arts. While attending HSPVA, Miss Jaye began to focus more on her writing skills. Not only was she writing songs, but poems as well. One of her poems was selected and published in a compilation by The International Poetry Society.
Miss Jaye aspires to follow in the footsteps of her influences Stevie Wonder and Lauryn Hill, as not only a singer, songwriter and producer of her own music, but of others as well. She is well on her way to achieving her dream with her recent position as musical director on the upcoming Solange Knowles project.
Currently, Miss Jaye is working on her debut album. Armed with multi-platinum producer John Broussard of JAB Productions (whose credits include Beyonce Knowles and Destinys Child). Miss Jaye intends on taking her musical career to the next level. The duo has already written and produced songs for signed artists as well as up and coming Houston talent. After years of preparation, it seems she is ready to go.
