Rock n Roll

Jeff Adkins beats the drums and James Clark and Mark Coomer plays guitar, bass, and sings. A little rock trio based about 20 miles north of Cincinnati, Oh. formed when Mark left the ashes of S.O.terrix to start an all original rock band. Jeff, who once tried out as a drummer for S.O.terrix was called to the task for the new band Misplaced. Later they asked James, who had been hanging around practice sessions, to play bass. Although he played guitar, he never tried bass before. But, it all worked out for the good. James and Mark share the bass and lead singing duties. This set up keeps all the songs sounding fresh as well as not wearing out the listeners with the same vocal tones and guitar styles thru out the night.
Band/artist history
In May 2001, Jeff drove out to Pricetown, Oh. to try out for S.O.terrix, a band that had been looking for a drummer for months with no luck. Mark, who played guitar in that band, was immediately attracted to Jeff's thought out creative style and knew he would work well for the songs they've been writing. But, the band thru much debating decided to go with another drummer that knew more cover songs on the condition that no more covers would be added and work would start on writing. It wasn't long until the new drummer wanted to add more covers to the list or else. While others caved in, Mark stood his ground. The band stalled. Then after a couple weeks it was clear that they weren't going to recover from this little spat. So, Mark called up Jeff immediately to form a new band. They began to work on an all original project starting with songs and material that Mark wrote. Also, Jeff had lyrics that they were able to write several songs to. The first being the powerful arpeggiated guitar driven "She's a killer". All Misplaced needed now was a bass. After trying out 4 differrent bassists over a couple a months, they still weren't satisfied. It was either lack of being able to commit, not able to comp the riffs, or disagreeing on the goals of the band. James, a friend of Jeff's, had been hanging around reheasals for a few weeks. Jeff asked him if he wanted to play bass. He was there the next Monday ready to practice. Later that night, one of the members of Skyward Eyes called to ask if Misplaced would open for them at the Southgate House this coming weekend! With less than a week to get ready they tripled the rehearsal times. It all paid off. The show went very well and James proved himself in the trial by fire situation. Currently Misplaced is writing more songs, recording a cd and planning shows with other up and coming local bands. So, you'll be seeing them soon.
