I'm Mimi, a Korean-American 18-yr old native to the PA suburbs. Music has always been a huge part of my life, whether it kept me coherent through schoolwork or just playing/writing music on my own. While I've been playing piano and singing for as long as I can remember, I only recently began writing my own stuff, my sophomore year in high school.
I love creating my own music because it reflects where I am in life and how I'm perceiving the world around me at that particular moment. I've found that it's hardest for me to express myself through words - I often fail to accurately articulate myself with lyrics so I prefer to talk through the music.Your musical influences
I admire musicians who involve themselves in the composition of the songs they produce and perform -- it definitely adds a validity and legitimacy to their profession and general musicianship. I adore Alicia Keys and Norah Jones, James Morrison and Lauryn Hill.What equipment do you use?
