Miguzi's been rapping since 2008. Introduced by New York City MC and well-known, "Lethal", who also gave the name, "Miguzi". Probably because Lethal considered him to be as goofy and cartoonish as the popular Cartoon Network lineup and on the East Side, you're not really supposed to give yourself your own rap name. The two smoked Phillies until their eyes went bloodshot and made Mixtapes together, with such ridiculous classics like "Ass To Mouth" and "Rockstar", but Lethal got deported back to Jamaica, leaving Miguzi to do his own.
Now riding solo, he continues to stay true to what he learned from Lethal before his deportation, but now involves his own influences (1980's, Elastica, Electro Punk, Chiptune, Dubstep, Electronica, Black Metal, Hip Hop) and tries to mash it up in the rap game.
Miguzi currently lives in The Bay Area, but has lived in Hollywood, Philadelphia and Brooklyn.
"I'm The Illest Rapper Alive and for anybody who disagrees... hold up, who farted?" - MiguziBand/artist history
I started in 2008... and that's our conclusion of, "Band History" by Miguzi.Have you performed in front of an audience?I've played live around Philadelphia before. But I generally turn shit down, because it's always some situation where I have to sell my own tickets, and that's not ballin' at all. If my friends like my shit, that's awesome, but I'm not gonna shove it down their throats. Nobody likes that guy.
Your musical influences
I like new Nine Inch Nails because it's a great example of where music today is going. It's no longer one genre. Everything is fusing together. Hip Hop is dance is Rock and while the classics of a genre will always remain, I'm big on fusion. I'm the corny guy who thinks the world is better with mixed babies and black kids at Sonic Youth concerts and white girls at Lil Wayne concerts. I want the World to Dougie!! Hahaha! What equipment do you use?
A computer, my voice, a Piano and cowbell.Anything else?
I've listened to half of these bust-ass rappers. I've only been rapping since 2008 and while my production value isn't as polished as others, I know for a fact I can rap better than like, 90% of what's out their right now. That includes the radio. Lyrically, I'm nice as shit. Abstract, but nice. Some of these verses on the radio make me wanna kill myself. Then I start to think, "somebody paid them for this" and then I 'really' wanna kill myself.
