Mercury 1

Mercury 1 is a five-piece power rock outfit nested in Oklahoma. Combining emotional, thought-provoking lyrics that are true to life with an high octane stage performance, the band is climbing its way into the ranks of the regional market. Six songs off the debut album "diverisities" have received radio play in numerous areas, and radio stations are now spinning preview tracks from the forthcoming CD. Currently the band is gigging heavily through Oklahoma and Texas.

Fused in the fall of 1997, the band played it's first club show in December. In February of 1998, "diversities" was recorded. The band lineup was completed in the fall of 1998, one month before the band began competition in the Oklahoma Talent Shows. Winning the first two rounds of the Talent Show, Mercury 1 reached the finals and began to develop a strong following. In 1999, the band recorded and released "Forever" and "Higher Education" for a promo only release. Mercury 1 has been chosen to play key slots at several high profile music festivals. The band also headlined the Year 2000 New Year's Party in Weatherford, OK and has headlined shows with national sponsors.

We can be seen often at the top clubs in Oklahoma, including the Samurai and Jim's Club Live.
