Im just a regular guy who fell in love with HipHop in 2nd grade. I was always a music fan in general, but....
HipHop snuck up on me when my dad was stationed in Thompkins Barracks outside Heidelburg, Germany. The Black GIs were rockin to that strange sound I heard, and me being curious as I've always been, was intrigued by it. I loved the rhythm, the way the man sounded like he meant what he was sayin on some songs, and on others just sounded like he was having so much fun and shit.
That man? Slick Rick Tha Ruler.
First crossover Hiphop song I EVER heard and thought of as a favorite? "Walk This Way" Run DMC feat. Aerosmith.
Then of course, LL Cool J, Fresh Prince, Beastie Boys, Young MC...
And the list goes on...and on....and on....and on....and onnnnn
Ive been homeless off and on 7 years of my life. I should be dead right now; never thought I'd make it past 25. I got a story to tell. Thats why I do this....cause I got tired of hearing the bullshit on the radio.
I've hustled, I've gone to church, I've loved and lost, been betrayed and burned...used, abused, mistreated, defeated..but never dead. And because of that? I now am in position to make some great music. And thats what Im finna do. God Bless if you similar, God help you if you need it, and if you hate me? God DAMN you.
