The Hip Hop/Rap industry is at a crucial turning point right now. It's a confused soul, with so many directions to go in.....but none of those given paths are in any form the right ones to follow. After being signed to Rap Pioneer Reverend Run for 7yrs, while most would look at it as time for a change of career, Jux may have altered it quite a bit, but the only change on his mind was the one involving the heavy decline in not only the sales....but quality, of the only music he's known since the age of 12.
Jux said; "Everything happens for a reason, whether you think so or not. I didnt have to spend my time at label's observing, but I did, and never knew why until I was suppossed to...which is NOW". Currently, Jux is the Owner/Co-Founder/CEO & President Of A&R for iLLFaTeD Entertainment. iLLFaTeD Entertainment is Affilliated with Def Squad Records as of summer 2007, and joint ventures between the artists& producers of both labels have already began recording. Collabs as of now include; Tone Kapone & Erick Sermon on behalf of Def Squad, and introducing.... Chris Classic & DeZ on behalf of iLLFaTeD Entertainment. The projects includes guest appearances, such as production so far, from: Erick Sermon, Lofey, Jay Waxx Garfield, DJ Premier, & Unreleased Cuts from the Late JaM Master Jay (formely of RUN-DMC), as Chris Classic being hip hop's biggest secret, but the nephew of Reverend Run (also of RUN-DMC) & hip hop mogul Russell Simmons.

In the state the economy is in, on top of the state the music industry is in...we all know how tough it can be to make a dollar. I don't care who you are, or who you know....if you say gettin money in this biz is easy and you can just throw it around like nothin...your lying. I had a record deal when i was 18 and that was almost 10yrs ago. When i got signed to Epic/Sony, people still sold 10million records(not like the mid 90's but still possible). Now if you sell 100,000.....you deserve a pat on the back. So when I first got signed as an artist, you could never have too many producers around. Producers got paid up to 50k a track plus royalties for making complete and utter bull$h1t. People took producing for granted, but it was alot easier to get a track out there and get paid for it. Now that I'm the producer, and everything is the way it is now....as we all know...$h1t aimt easy. For all the people I know, connections & resources I have....money couldnt be tighter. So, for anyone out there whos into stealing beats.....understand 2 things; 1) trust me, it be alot cheaper in the end if you just buy the beat now and avoid the headache later. After lawyer fees(if that route is taken..)we both end up broke....not worth it. 2) although the law states it's illegal to steal a person's work...i'm not one who follows rules, law, etc. So, the penalty for stealing tracks from me is more or less.... PUNISHABLE BY DEATH. and if the person who steals the track has money and/or works at a major label, and could have paid for it from the start....that therefore doubles the crime, and is... SENTENCED TO DOUBLE DEATH. (depending on who you are, will decide how you interpret what i'm saying. You want to take it as a joke, be my guest, i mean.....it really is a joke(or at least thats what i would say in court...jk...or am i?). All in all its just words, but words to read and think about before attempting do me wrong. I'm generally a nice guy that is more then fair and reasonable when it comes to working with someone's budget, big or small......BUT don't mistake kindness for weakness. Have an ok day! JuX
I appreciate the friend request and kind words. Very cool....
