P-Dubb Mancini was born Y.Williams in the war zone called Monrovia,Liberia (L.I.B). Due to the 14-year-old civil war in Liberia his 18-month-old brother and father were murdered in a massacre. Soon after, he and his family escaped from Liberia and came to the U.S.A where they lived in Staten Island, New York. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Maryland. At the age of 11, while struggling to fit in this American way of life,P-Dubb started writing rhymes that depicted his up bringing in Liberia and the pain and loss of his family. P-Dubbs first brush with fame was when he won 2nd place on a Baltimore radio show called the Cipher on 92Q Jams. Another was when he had a poem published on poetry.com. He knew his talent extended far beyond just rhyming, so he enrolled in a class in high school called Music Theory. There he learned how to use the MPC and learned how to play the keyboard. His music inspiration comes from his family and other artists.First and foremost his mom was the biggest inspiration in his life.Even though she came from a poor family, she always had a vision to go to school and out of her whole family she was the only one to graduate from college. She was a person with a dream and no matter how hard life was,she worked until she achieved it. P-Dubb inherited that strength, focus, and passion to succeed. Musically his inspiration came from LL Cool J,Biz markie,Kool Moe Dee, 2pac, Nas, Jay-Z, Wu-tang, Diplomats, King Just, Canibus, Lucky Dube, Jae millz and Ali Vegas.
