When Jamar Brown was born, George Benson was playing in the background. Moving from Seattle to New Orleans then eventually to Los Angeles, J developed his soul and swagger along the way. Music runs through his family's blood, so harmony and rhythm came as natural as walking. Now 24 years old, Brown is once again living in Seattle, focused on music and more polished then ever. Brown has an energetic and alluring on-stage presence. Performing in venues from packed clubs to jazz lounges to outdoor festivals, J has ripped crowds in many states across the nation. He has also shared the stage with heavyweights such as E-40, Lil Scrappy, Tech N9ne, and many others. His personality is magnetic, his delivery is strong, and J is constantly sharpening his skills. In addition to his talents on stage, he spends hour's everyday writing songs, and engineering. He identifies themes, composes the lyrics, and creates the harmony. He has been very involved in the arrangement of each song on his new album Change. He has completed a multitude of songs in a wide variety of styles. (Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock, R&B, and Alternative). “ What I enjoy about music is being able to reach someone's soul and touch on a matter they thought no one else could relate to.” –J Brown J Brown's music has appeared on many local radio stations including KUBE 93.3 fm, X104.5 fm, as well as college radio mix shows throughout the U.S. As well as musical talent, he also has the style and image for the mainstream market. He has appeared in print ads for clothing, television commercials, and live fashion shows. Although modeling is not his focus, his style, and appearance is a plus to him on-stage for audience appeal. He has recently finished recording his first CD with all of his own material titled CHANGE which features an urban mix of Hip Hop, R&B, and Pop served up with a soulful twist. Change is a Universal album with something for anyone who listens, the first of many to come.
