Born Jonathan Powell in Dublin, Georgia to teenage parents and raised by his grandma, Critical grew up among impoverished surroundings. He turned to crime at a very young age; (stealing, robbing, and selling drugs) in order to have what other kids had. He ran in and out of trouble for most of his life, which lead him to jail on countless times as well as prison. -He first fell in love with hip-hop when he heard; Bone Thugs N Harmony, House of Pain, and Outkast. Which became something of a safe haven for him, for he began writing his own rhymes at age 14; (The first song he wrote was called "My Shoe Is Tore"), which seemed to help him stay out of trouble some... But that did not last long for he went back to his criminal ways, which he then used as gas for the fire (Lyrics), a sort of trophy one may say. But Critical isn't just about Rap/Hip-Hop, for he is also a composer of Rock, Blues, & Country, as well as Techno.
