Adam Sweet has a BA in Music and certificates in violin, performance and chamber music from the New England Conservatory of Music, the Conservatory of Music at Rivers, the Center for Chamber Music at Apple Hill, the Keene Institute of Music and Related Arts, and Hampshire College, where he graduated in 1985. Sweet opened his studio in 1986 and has been teaching mandolin and fiddle ever since.
Sweet performs regularly with Celticado, a traditional Irish pub-style ceilidh duo he co-founded with Jim Bunting, formerly of the Butcher Boys and Woodkerne. He is the founder of The Americana Project, and musical director of the Mandolin Project and the Klezmer Orchestra.
Sweet lives in South Hadley with his wife Emily and their two boys.
