I’m Samuel, a rapper/singer/producer from Allentown, Pennsylvania.
I know. Not many people do all three. But I did put a lot of time into pursuing them one by one. At some point, I wasn’t doing any. But those were the eight years I was teaching myself piano before I decided to take up beatmaking. A year later, I decided beatmaking wasn’t enough, so I started rapping and then singing. All of these were just hobbies to me until I decided that the money I saved up for 13 months was enough to take that courageous step out of my mom’s house and move into another city – West Chester, Pennsylvania – to invest in a personal recording studio.
A one-man team, I have dropped four studio EPs: Abundance, Scarcity (both in 2016), Nirvana (2017), and Samsara (2018). My rapping is influenced by Kendrick Lamar and OutKast, my singing is influenced by Owl City and Thom Yorke, and my production is influenced by Skrillex and Dream Theater. Lyrically, I write a lot on the topic of self-growth, trying to do so from a perspective of as mature intelligence as I can manage. However, I try to compose/produce through the eyes of a young wide-eyed boy, astounded by the universe surrounding him.
Mission
Some say the future is already here, but right now it’s just in distribution. Everything is changing, each day at a quicker pace than the last. The youth has more influence on today’s society than ever, technology is minimizing the friction between wanting something and getting it, and the cost of necessities like food and internet are lowering themselves. This is coming from an unstoppable futuristic momentum of global improvement and livelihood, I think people need to move with that momentum to truly experience the oneness of it all, but I don’t believe they can easily do so without a reason. So I aim to deliver that reason with my music and beats.
