James Nathaniel, professionally known as J. Nathan, is an American producer from Los Angeles, California. J first got into beat making when his best friend showed him how to use beat making program, Fruity Loops, in 2005. From that point on, he fell in love with the amalgamation of sounds. His love for music began in the mid 80's. His mother had a diverse vinyl collection that she would play everyday during Nathan's childhood. During the time he became familiar with artists such as Marvin Gaye, Phil Collins, Sting, Curtis Mayfield, Billie Holiday, Isaac hayes, Frank Sinatra and many others. Nathan's sound ranges from Boom Bap to Pop. He has produced tracks for many local hip hop artists such as Skeme, Tahoe, Reem Riches, J-Go, Travis Spinks, as well as others.
