Ryan Carter (born December 2, 1991 in Detroit, MI USA) is an American recording artist, songwriter, producer, and designer. He is known for his parody hip-hop albums, Carter began his music career underground with homemade CD's distributed independently throughout school. In 2013, Ryan Carter released his debut full-length album "Welcome to Planet Earth: Grand [Schemes] and Bad [Dreams]" on several online mix-tape sites. His debut was followed by “Welcome to Planet Earth 2: Supreme [Machines] and Devolved [Monsters]” in 2014, and “Mind of the Court Jester” in 2015. Ryan Carter gained recognition in the music world with his 2016 album "The Exaggerated Tales Of...", which won a bronze medal from the Global Music Awards. In late 2016, Carter landed a major endorsement of his music when Bizarre, of the Detroit rap group D12 promoted Carter's then upcoming album "Nightmares in America". Bizarre also went on to label Carter the "Weird-Al Yankovic of Detroit". Ryan released his fifth album "Nightmares in America" on January 20, 2017. This album features an image of the US presidential seal with various images from American history superimposed in the background. Images ranging from a lynching, an upside-down American flag, Martin Luther King, and then President-elect Donald Trump was sure to incite powerful reactions from the audience. This album won Akademia Music Award, and silver medal from Global Music Awards for outstanding achievement. "The Doctorate", Carter's sixth album and first double-album was released on January 1, 2018. It was featured in WELAB magazine's December 2017 issue. Following that, Carter released singles: “Trump’s Throne”, which won an Akademia Music Award, and "Meghan" a parody of Drake's hit "In My Feelings". Ryan Carter is known for pushing the limits of hip-hop and challenging the unwritten rule that every rapper nowadays has to take themselves supremely serious. Ryan Carter is a talented MC who might do away with the ‘street cred’ that other rappers hold close to chest for the ability to lyrically be himself. Carter is an extremely talented ambidextrous rapper with various faculties in songwriting, self-made production/mix engineering and overall revolutionary poetic thinking that has hacked the musical in a pioneering manner towards renowned status.
