Most would call me a member of The Old Guard since I`m in my fifties. Personally I don't care for that term since it suggests we're dying out. Me? No goddam way. I started learning guitar at age 11, practicing the most tedious things imaginable. Eventually I began teaching students. For exposure outside of lesson books I frequently listened to the likes of Bachman, Marino, Lifeson, Skynyrd... you get the picture. Lately, I.ve taken an interest in learning sweep picking and sh*t like that. That latter stuff though, I guess I'll have to pick up from my son. Damn kid's better than when I was ten years older than he is now. Just the same, I love traditional multitracking. No axe looping, and I strive for one take from start to finish. The first take is usually the best because after that you begin repeating yourself. How else can you jam with a DAW and still keep it fresh, bro? Feel me? I`ll be posting my tunes soon as possible.
