In an era, where most musical artists are striving to be termed, “different”, multi-talented artist, AJ Randall aka J-Bwoi has quite easily mastered the art. Multi-instrumentalist, singer, producer and songwriter, Randall is a one man army. This showcase of talent is reflected in his new singles, “We Made It” and “Iono” and not only defines him as a raw and original expert, but one with the profound ability to relate to and captivate large audience.
North Carolina, born and bred, Randall expressed a genuine and passionate love for music at a tender age. Interestingly enough, Randall firmly believes that this zeal was primarily instilled by his father, a gospel artist. He explains, “My father would often tap on my mother’s stomach during her pregnancy”. Additionally, before he could walk he owned a drum set and would accompany his father in playing for gospel groups like 'The Supreme Angels', 'The Canton Spirituals', 'The Carolina Soulfalares', 'God's Creation', and 'The Soul Seekers. Eventually, Randall became adept at this skill. He didn’t settle there however, but channeled his energy into attaining guitar, bass and lead and keyboard expertise while engaging in singing and songwriting.
Not only was Randall talented but expressed originality. He said, I would make my backpack out of a cereal box in high school and I designed an entire Cookie Crisp outfit by cutting out the pieces I needed to use and airbrushing them onto my clothing”.
