BIO
Genesis grew up around music, and started his career playing 'Rare Groove' in a 'Sound system' managed by 'Special Edition' playing at Ocean's nightclub in London & Notting hill Carnival North London where he was raised.
He was aware from a young age about the music business as his father 'Bunny Mc Kenzie' and aunt
'Candy Mc Kenzie' played with some of the biggest reggae artists at that time, and in fact his first taste of stardom was when his Aunt Candy introduced him to 'Big Life Records' who formed a band called 'Debonair Zoom' and released a single/Video called 'One Kingdom' that was aired on MTV.
Genesis hit the 'Rave scene in the early 90s, inspired by 'Acid house' & 'Old School' and had a residency at Loft Club in Acton when music progressed into Jungle/Drum & Bass he played in Venues in London and all over the UK, and hosted Radio shows on Pirate Radio.
He then Co-Founded 'X-Certificate' (also known as 'X Cert) along with his Uncle 'Kenny X' and went on to release tunes on 'Ibiza Records 'Wheel the Bass' 'Rising to the Bass' "Bass nightmare'"
& "X Rated movie" to name a few.
When His uncle Kenny X relocated abroad he teamed up with LadyK who became his Production Partner & decided to carry on XCert's name, Producing Soulful Ambient Liquid Drum & Bass with an Oldschool Jungle Twist.
