He was born on June 10, 1974 in our nation's capital. After finishing Elementary School at Charles Young, Michael and his family moved to Landover, Maryland where he completed middle school at Greenbelt Middle School. While attending Greenbelt, one of his music teachers, Mrs. Foster, noticed that Michael had a musical gift from God, "Perfect Pitch" and urged him to participate in either the band or the chorus. Michael decided to participate in the band in which began his career as a trombonist.
Today, C. Michael is one of the most sought after musicians in the Carolinas. His instrumentals has been used by countless singers, dancers, and rappers across the triad. His marching band arrangements have been distributed to schools all across the east coast and even to marching bands in Sweden. He currently plays trombone in the gospel group, "Peace of Mind" , the R&B top 40 band "Envision" where he is the horn section music arranger, and he has also played for the Andrew Thielin Big Band out of Myrtle Beach S.C. He is also the Director of Bands at The Carter G. Woodson School in Winston-Salem N.C. where he has taught for 10 years. Not only has he composed a lot music for the ensembles there at his school, but have gotten the students to try their hand at composing song and performing them as class projects.
