The 9th Street Sax Quartet is comprised of four saxophonists, each with over 40 years of experience as professional musicians. The entertainers we have backed over the years reads like a "Who's Who" of the music industry. We decided in 2012 to begin meeting informally at my home on East 9th Street to play music written specifically for saxophones that we always enjoyed playing but seldom found the time to do so. Wendell began composing and arranging for the group and within a year he had written close to fifty arrangements! We Play an eclectic mix of Classical, Jazz, Standards, Bebop, Ragtime and Holiday Music. Our ensemble is sure to add a special flair to your wedding, cocktail hour, birthday/anniversary party, jazz festival, art exhibition or wine tasting event ( we really like those!). In addition, a collection of four arrangements for saxophone quartet titled "Gershwin N Me" is available if you enjoy our music and would like to play it with your own sax quartet!
