Jeffrey Nortey, native of Accra, Ghana (born March 18,1988) is an American Grammy nominated singer-songwriter raised in the Bronx, NY. During his early years; at about the age of eight, Jeffrey discovered his passion. Nortey was not the typical eight year old; he landed little gigs singing at shows, sweet sixteens and talent shows just to name a few. Nortey was also known for singing at the local church he attended with his mom. He impressed his audiences with his raw natural talent of singing and entertaining. In the years to follow, throughout his high school years, Nortey worked with Choir Academy where he traveled half of the world performing. This served as confirmation to him that he wanted nothing else but to do this for the rest of his life. Nortey had a way of using his thoughts along with his words to construct what can be considered timeless music. With his unique voice and versatile writing abilities, Nortey has established himself as one of the best known singers/songwriters amongst his peers. Jeffrey was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth; he worked days and nights hustling to make his dream a reality. He recalls working at home in a little studio located in his bedroom at his Harlem apartment creating music and editing his own songs. He learned the ropes of the industry under the tutelage of hip hop producer Showbiz of DITC (Digging in the crates) and DJ Premier.
