With over 20 years experience as a guitar player, producer, songwriter and sound engineer, Eric Zimmermann has made a name for himself in many sectors of the music industry. As a teenager in New York, Eric was initially drawn to playing the guitar and has spent the last 25 years mastering this art. He has taken lessons from Dream Theater’s John Pettruci and Terry Syrek of Trans-Siberian Orchestra as well as Rich Kern from the Kip Winger band.
After graduating from college in New York, Eric moved to California and started an audio post production facility, Zoo Dog Digital. He soon earned a name for himself as a quality mastering engineer, notably after he worked with the hip hop trio Dilated Peoples’ album “The Platform” which cracked Billboard Magazines Top 40 on the R&B/Hip Hop chart. He further established the Zoo Dog brand by mastering music for Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Joey Ramone as well as doing radio edits for high-profile acts like The Rolling Stones, Filter and Alanis Morissette. In 2000, Eric was nominated for a Grammy for his work with the chart-topping artist, Mystic.
Eric’s own recording project, Under Radio, features David Lee Roth band members Gregg and Matt Bissonette as well as Robbie Wyckoff who is currently on tour with Roger Waters singing David Gilmour’s parts for The Wall 2010-2011 tour. Under Radio has released two CDs in 2002 and 2004 on Lion Music.
