From the beginning I can honestly say that I am no were near to the position that I want to be in. But the burning passion that I have for music and have always had will only drive me past the position that I could even dream of being in. Simply put, I bleed creativity.
It all started with a box of cookies and a trip to my uncles house with my dad. I was around five years old. SO my uncle comes out to the truck me and my dad are in to come and let us into his apartment complex. My uncle ask me if he can have a couple cookies when he got to my window. Looking into his glossy bloodshot red eyes I said yes. And before I knew it, he had eaten every last cookie I had in the box. Of course I was crushed. So to make it up to me, my uncle decided that he would let me play around with one of his keyboards in his studio. I always enjoyed seeing this room filled with records and turntables and mixers and so on but never really got to experience it until that day. So after a couple of minutes or so, my uncle comes back and he tells me to say something in the mic sitting to my left. "My name is CJ and Im rockin the mic". Now play the keyboard he told me. And to my amazement, each key was my voice at a different pitch, I was hooked.
When I turned fourteen and got my first computer, my uncle mailed me the programs I needed to get started on creating and producing music. I was living in East Oakland at the time, not so great of an area for a kid to just go running around and hangin out in.
