The story of most hip-hop producers use to begin with spinning turntables and years of being a DJ… This is no longer the precedent. The tale of producer Lex of New Clothez Productions begins with years of being in the booth as an aspiring rapper. Perfecting his craft and learning from numerous producers over a span of more then fifteen years this has given him a musical foundation that is absent in most producers since the eras of industry legends like Barry White, Issac Hayes, Marley Marl, The Rza, P-Diddy, Pete Rock,DJ Premier, Easy Mo Bee, and a list of many more. On this foundation Lex formed New Clothez Productions, and began to build a tower of burning hip hop beats and instrumentals each laced with his signature soul, memorable melodies and drum kits that are feared by even the largest of speaker systems. Lex was born of Puerto Rican decent and grew up in the South Bronx. Being the Grandson of a traveling Latin Musician gave him a certain kinship to music that can be heard in his music today. Lex was exposed to various types of music including Hip-hop, Soul, Salsa, Meringue, Rock and Reggae all of which greatly influenced his production-style. After moving to Atlanta in 1996 Lex had the opportunity to put New Clothez Productions on the map by featuring on DJ Drama Mixtapes, while also receiving Executive Producer credits on completed projects for Signed and Unsigned Artists on the Underground Circuit.
