Exodus 3:5 God said, “Don’t come any closer. Remove your sandals from your feet. You’re standing on holy ground.” John 4:23-24 “It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.” These verses exemplify my heart of worship and the way I desire to come before God always. I have occasionally been known to lead worship without shoes. It all started during a worship service about 13 years ago. God spoke to me to remove my shoes, because I wear them through all of the dirt and mess of life. When I come before Him, I am to leave those troubles behind and come to Him clean and humbled. So, this is how I present myself to Him and lead others in worship; without shoes in preparation for standing on Holy Ground. I feel really silly putting all of this together. It's not about promoting myself, but giving God the glory and honor. He is the one who has given me the voice, so anything I do with it, goes back to Him.
