Engineer by necessity, writer by choice.
I've been playing music since the fifth grade, when I was chosen to play the Bass Recorder in a Baroque Ensemble. It was a life-changing experience, and I started to dream of someday owning my own music studio
I began writing music at the age of 18 while teaching myself to play guitar. I'd always wanted to play piano, so once I established my career in the technical world, I spent several years with vocal coaches, piano teachers, and guitar teachers. I taught myself music theory, and for a short time collaborated with Rob Munshower (recently lead guitarist/writer of the group, Beyond the Firewall). To this day, I continue to study style and genre of both songs and specific instruments as I search for the timeless melody.
I played in various Christian bands, and at one point, wrote/arranged music, trained/guided musicians and singers and sound team members in ministry that lasted over ten years. I stopped playing live in '03 when the urgency of my professional obligations crowded out my personal life. Years on the road working with subcontractors took all of my energy and time and eventually burned me out.
But now I'm back, and writing, and loving life, music, and my Creator.
