Brandy Maddox is a songstress that exudes raw emotion with wisdom beyond her years. With a voice that is described as Pop, Brandy Maddox is a passionate vocalist. Born in Shelby, North Carolina Brandy Maddox started singing in the church choir at the tender age of 5. She was intrigued by her Aunts who would frequently sing back up for Whitney Houston, Bobby Jones and John P. Key. It was tagging along to rehearsals that birthed her passion for music. "Growing up in a small town music was the vehicle that I used to travel and see the world. I’ve always felt I could sing myself anywhere."
In 2006 Brandy Maddox starting singing under the stage name of Gypsy Purl. Gypsy Purl’s debut album Destiny is available through itunes, emusic and napster just to name a few. "Destiny is about living your dreams, It’s about overcoming fear."
Gypsy Purl performed her controversial single Make the Money at the Multicultural Motion Picture Association’s Diversity Awards Show where she received rave reviews. In 2011, Gypsy Purl ventured out on a club tour throughout the states that resulted in a barage of devoted fans. Gypsy Purl found herself opening for Snoop and Ray J. In 2012, for reasons unknown, Brandy Maddox dropped her alias and went back to recording under her birthname.
