Who are the Discount Heroes?
The Discount Heroes have been playing the Philadelphia music scene for the past two years, performing at venues such as the North Star Bar, the Khyber, the Fire, Connie's Ric Rac, the Tritone, the El Bar, the Hinge Cafe, Fergie's, Doc Watson's, Abilene, the Dive, the Raven and the Lickety Split as well as out of town gigs in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York. They were the opening act at the 2007 Northern Liberties Summer Music Festival in Philadelphial.
"Cold Cuts", the group's first professionally produced EP, is now available for sale. Frankie and Rob decided to expand to a full band so that they could play larger venues, add complexity to the song arrangements and find that "rock meets soul meets pop" sound that they have been working towards for quite some time.
