Johnny Sunshine is a guitarist/songwriter/producer, currently based in Longview, TX. Raised on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Johnny blends influences from southern, progressive and 70's hard rock plus jazz and blues to come up with his own 'Rock and Shine' style. Johnny writes his songs primarily with an acoustic guitar and then develops them in a production style suited to the project he's working on at the time.
Johnny Sunshine became John Smith's stage name during the years he lived on the Big Island of Hawai'i to promote his solo, instrumental gigs (acoustic guitar).
The tracks posted here on Soundclick are the TV soundtrack versions of songs that will be on his upcoming biker/surf/classic rock album (title TBD). Johnny recorded and produced these tunes as themes and underscores for a local cable TV series about bikers on the Big Island. The show was cancelled due to the station folding, but Johnny decided to continue writing and producing his musical vision to completion and release the album on his lable, Malolo Records. The basic tracks for the project were all recorded while living in South Kona. Check out MaloloRecords.com for updates on project's status.
