To call Ron Ketchum the newest voice in the roots music scene is well...a bit of a stretch. This singer/songwriter/recording artist from Freedom, Alberta has been a pillar of the local music community for over 3 decades, filling country halls and town arena's with the music we all recognize - from the western folk his father loved to the classic rock of his own formative years.
All those years of live performances, playing the "standards" we all enjoyed, have left Ron with a strong understanding of just what makes a song tick. His own body of work features music and lyrics forged over many years and many miles with some songs being re-imagined and re-written dozens of times as his musical chops and poetic voice grew. The end result is a collection of songs as diverse as the lifetime of music and experience that spawned them, with themes ranging from youthful exhuberance to love, (and loss), spirituality and positivity.
