Siberian Jay has been a long time project, but now the first album is finally released. The band consist from five top Finnish freelance musicians, that have been working together on and off in many different bands and projects during last 5-10 years. The album has been composed, engineered and produced by the lead singer Ilari Hämäläinen and the music was arranged together with the band.
Mixing of the album was split by Ilari and his brother Lauri. Mastering was done by Svante Forsbäck / Chartmakers except “Do You Feel Sexy”, ”I Know Who You Are” and ”The Only Life”, which were mastered by Ilari in a different session.
The line up of Siberian Jay had been in Ilari's dreams for years while playing with the bands like Kengurumeininki, Naked, Pete Parkkonen, Katri Ylander and Megaphone. He found these's guys during those years. Lauri from Kemopetrol and Phoenix Effect had always been his favourite bassplayer besides himself. Miika Colliander from Husky Rescue, Irina, Chisu and Juha Tapio is the finest guitarist in making effective atmospheres and clean twangy guitarparts. For his companion Ilari invited the long lost brother of Slash - Kristian Wahlström from Mighty 44, Teleks and many other bands. He's the craziest Les Paul fighter that Ilari had ever met. Drums tracks were played by Apocalytica's drummer Mikko Siren and Hannes "the wrestler" Pirilä

As we run our own label, and the digital version of the album has been just released, we're starting to feel like real computer geeks. Past few weeks the only thing that we have been doing is sitting infront of the computer and doing "recordcompany stuff". And it seems there's no end to it. But we are glad that people who are interested in our music have possibility to listen to it and buy it. Even listening through Spotify will be good for us.
