Born in the islands of the Bahamas, Kirkstar (Kirkland Bodie Jr) an energetic and talented young man born on February 8th, 1991, was raised in New Providence of the Bahamas. He was brought to America by his Father Kirkland Bodie Sr, after finishing his 7th grade year. Music and dance have always been apart of the Bahamian culture and as such Kirkstar brought the love for the two to America with him where it stayed close to his heart. Growing up Kirkstar was always a curious, creative, and independent child. He wrote his first lyrics at the age of 14, rewriting the song to one of his favorite artists. While attending Miramar High School at the age of 16 his curiosity won out again and he started to take notice of hip hop dance. Influenced by the people he saw around him as well as celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Omarion and Usher his passion for dancing took shape. As the years passed Kirkstar's abilities in singing, songwriting, and dancing had greatly improved. He now wants to show the world that he's different from any other artist out there. His drive in doing what he does is not just because he loves it but because of his strong love for his family. Kirkstar is an artist who learns and evolves himself through music & dance, the more he learns the more he grows. No matter where this journey takes him he will always remember where he came from.
