Hello everyone, my name is Sarah Carr I am currently a junior communications major at Wright State University. Music has been my passion from a very young age. At 4 I began playing piano by ear and I've always loved to sing. I wrote my first song on the piano at age 8 and my first song with lyrics at age 11. Now I am in the process of working on my own cd, and gaining more recognition. I'm working on turning my dreams into a reality by networking

Studio Time!

My new job has been taking up alot of my time lately but I still manage to squeeze in time to make music. I've made 6 songs so far and still need to finish 3 more. It's been a struggle finding a studio where I can record for a reasonable price and I also have been looking for a good rapper to be featured on a few of my songs. I finally found a studio where I can record for free. An old friend of mine raps and has a studio thats pretty nice he's made good quality sounding music and he's a great rapper too! So I'm going to collab with him on a few songs and get started on finishing up this album. Today is going to be my first day in the studio I'm excited lol wish me luck! Thanks for reading ; )

So far I have made 4 songs since I posted my last blog and I'm excited about making more and finishing my album by March 2012. I have been very busy lately but I still manage to squeeze time in for song writing. By the way just a tip for song writers, the best time of day to write a song is in the afternoon because that's when your creativity is at it's peak, I've noticed that when I work on a song in the afternoon I come up with great ideas and the song sounds really good whereas in the morning or night I find it harder to come up with good ideas. I'm also working on being apart of a mixtape so I've been working on that as well, nothing has been recorded yet but once I hit the studio and record I will post my songs on my page to share with you guys. Thanks for reading!
Boot Camp

Today for me starts music boot camp! For too long I haven't been working on my talent like I should, yeah I did a couple talent shows here and there but after a while I just let the dream die. I recently made up my mind to not just dream about what I want but to go after what I want and start chasing my dreams. Boot camp for me will consist of writing two songs every week, and once I reach 7 or more songs making a cd to promote myself and gain more recognition. I have also decided to start booking performances at local events and coffee shops to gain more experience with music performance. Right now I'm reading a book on how to promote myself as an artisits and I joined soundclick which I think is a great start! To those of you reading this with similar ambitions but lack of motivation, don't be discouraged becasuse it's never too late to make a change. In my room I have a small poster on the wall that says FINISHER, everytime I look at it, it motivates me to finish what I start. I reccomend that you write an encouraging word, phrase, scripture or quote down on a poster or a piece of paper and put it somewhere like your wall or the mirror, so that everytime you look at it you will be encouraged and motivated to reach your goals and never give up! Because I truly believe you can do whatever you put your mind to. Thanks for reading my thoughts and I will keep you posted on my progress! God bless!
