Started running companies at 19. A photographic studio in Piccadilly Circus. I learned how to manage the busy schedules of 2 fashion/advertising photographers; their assistants; financial management; book models and photographing potential models for catalogue work we did. I also did occasional modelling. I did various other job - art buying, advertising, public relations, etc until I could learn no more. I entered the music industry as an assistant in the art department of a music book company, however, quickly progressed to negotiating contracts, finding new clients, compiling books and even interviewing for the small magazine of lyrics and bio material we published for newspaper stand distribution. More fun and more learning from the American I worked for, Alan Sanford. Bob Wise; founder of Music Sales Ltd (now a major book publishing house); sought me out. I joined his company as General Manager '71. Treated me as a woman, an equal & having a mind that could do anything it was given to solve. I learned a huge amount & that my being a woman was not a drawback. 1972, General Manager of Elton John's & Bernie Taupin's pub co's. Had the the pleasure of working with them, Kiki Dee, Kevin Ayers, Dave Stewart, Brenda Russell and Gus Dudgeon. 1975 joined Chrysalis. Became the first women to break many barriers. It is not a problem being a woman. It gives you a different perspective and a skill and advantage in negotiation. I have learned much over the years and continue to.
