Gregory Seide better known by his stage name PhatG, is a Haitian-American record producer, songwriter and singer. As a producer, he has worked with a variety of notable artists including Canadian rapper Imposs, P-Jay, TPO, EUD, Flav, and many others in the Haitian market.
PhatG began working in the music industry as a singer/rapper and after the breakup of his group he began to experiment in the production aspect of the industry. It was his work with P-Jay in 2010 on the #1 single, “Fok Mwen Ale,” that would bring PhatG to the forefront of the music industry. It was in the number one position for four weeks and stayed in the top ten for nearly 8 months.
In an industry that is often more interested in the bottom line than artistic merit, PhatG has managed to remain strong in his desire to carve out his unique sound. PhatG has shown that it is possible to find a happy medium between commercialism and creativity.
He’s currently working with various American rappers and hopefully the rest of the world will get to hear PhatG’s sound real soon.
