The UK Hip Hop and Grime Lyricist Troubled was born in Mile End, East London 1988 and by 1994 he was living in Thorney Close, North East, Sunderland. From an early age he began listining to Music Tapes recorded live from popular Nightclubs based in the North East area (The Afterdark, The New Monkey & The Hangar 13) where all his favourite Mc's earned a living. After several years listining to the same style of music he began writing his own lyrics and practicing flows hours on end using a nick name given by his friends (Pingu) wanting to be like the top mc's on the rave scene. In a matter of weeks he had enough confidents to perform at his local youth club, there he was recognised by older and more experienced upcoming mc's, he became quite the well known face of his community and made many friends with similar interests. By 18 he made his first live performance at an over 18's event (Infilltration) held at The Movies Bar, Bedlington ran by two well established names (Mc Lyric & Dj Halman) known to many rave fanatics all over the UK, once again he was recognised only this time by top promoters (Dj Matrix, Dj Stonehouse & David Mallan) all who were involved with his favourite event (The New Monkey) from his early days, the hard work began to pay off. Mc Pingu was splatted over flyers & posters for many different events all over Sunderland, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Durham, he finaly received the break he had dreamt about three quarters of his life time. Age 19 he was given the role as a Youth Work Assistant along side close friend (Dj Digital) which involved using his skills as an Mc to learn and entertain teenagers in many different communitys across the North East, attracting numbers upto 200 and more in such events twice every week. He then made an appearance in the Sunderland echo for the large decrease in street crime thanks to the events. Working with young teenagers realising how music kept a large majority of them off the streets away from trouble lead him into a more serious music style such as Uk Rap, Hip Hop and Grime, he began writing lyrics with much stronger meaning, the truth about childhood and how life was in the North East, this is how he came up with the name Troubled. By the age of 21 he recorded his first two written tracks (Crime Don't Pay and Greedy Dealer) at Broadwater Studios, Gateshead. The Studio Owner (Dez) thought the tracks were cool and original there for advised him to release the tracks onto the internet for other personal opinions and feedback. He was given great comments and both tracks received over 1000 downloads in less than two weeks which to him was a great success and encouraged him to keep writing. Troubled is now working on his first album (The General CD Of Street Education) which should be available to download sooner than You think so be ready for that, the North East is about to be stamped on the map.
