Inspired by the soul of the legendary Billie Holiday, the seductive voice of Sade, and the musical swag of Aaliyah, Glo has been adding her Latin roots to the classic R&B sound. Born in San Diego, CA the glo relocated to Memphis where she crossed paths with J-20. A brief chat, a song sung, and an info swap later, it was decided that J-20 and Glo had to work together. The Memphis born and bred J-20 infused the soul influences of Al Green and Otis Redding into the Glo’s sound. J-20 says he Memphis sound is in the way he walks and talks and naturally flows out when he sings with the soul of Memphis.
In 2009 the pair’s first collaboration in 2009 made a mark in small clubs around the area. In 2011 Glo and J-20 officially came together as "The Glo" and immediately found a like-minded group of musicians to back them up. Now, with the soul and funk of Memphis combined with the whimsical edge of San Diego, The Glo's music has matured into a Pop/Funk/Dance with Latin undertones.
