David was drawn by music all his life. As a young teenager, he would sit in his bedroom for hours at a time, singing along to records. When he realized his ability to sing, he went straight out and joined his high school chorus. At the same time he also began nursing the desire to write music. This led to the practice of keeping a tape recorder on hand, to capture the many song ideas that would visit him regularly. In 1982, David joined the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. He wasn't there very long before his vocal gift made the way for him to be used as a featured soloist. He faithfully served God in the B.T. Choir for the next ten years. And it was there he met Debra, his wife and soul mate. In 1993, the Lord led David and Debra to step down from service in the choir. He took them on a wilderness journey that would deepen their relationship with Him and each other, and further cultivate a willing sensitivity to the Spirit of God. This sensitivity permeates the music and lyrics of his songs. Isaiah 64:8 - But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You are our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.
