"I am destined to be the greatest. I am so creative that everybody else hates it," words from Bennie Tate that clearly define him as well as his music. He was born on the fourth of July in what has now become the 7th largest city in the United States, San Antonio, Texas. Within hip hop and rap music, he is simply one of the city's top artists and currently holds down the number 1 spot for unsigned myspace artists and has held it down for nearly six months and counting. "I think that unfortunately if myself and other artists were in other huge cities like Houston, Los Angeles or New York the, we would be signed by now. The difference is probably the cultures of entertainment that lye in these other huge cities. You have different record labels on every corner and unfortunately we don't have that here. It's on us as artists that come from here to change that around.
Bennie Tate released an underground mixtape last year titled "Staoffmidic" Volume 1 and just released another CD, "22 Bars and Runnin" where he rips through instrumentals only rapping 22 bars on all 22 tracks. He is currently working on several CD's. One titled, "The Most Interesting Man in the World" and another titled "BJT2998-The Story of Antonio San" which he says will definatley be the most powerful and creative music that he has done, to date.
