Scotty Optimo aka Smokegood is an up and coming artist from Williamsburg PJ's in Brooklyn.
He has been rhyming and performing since he was about 17 years old, and was always a force to be taken seriously. At the time , both of his brothers were also rhyming and pursuing themselves musically, and Scotty always would hold his own in cyphers, making everybody take notice of his skills.
Through his big voice, he speaks of the realness of life and the struggle of the hood, but also can flash his swagger around with the best of them. He has a flow that has been crafted through years of rhyming, testing different flows until he found his signature style. Now he just explodes on any beat twisting up metaphors and spittin crack on the track. He also has a great stage presence, and always has the crowd feeling his music as he performs.
Scotty has released 3 albums/mixtapes with some original beats and some industry joints also. Probobly his best known song from these albums is "Da Hull Street Anthem" that really kicked off Scotty as an independant artist, not to mention he had Brownsville on fire at the time, and down south where the VI KING movement was beginning to be noticed. But he has other hood classics that are unforgettable as well. The most popular album has to be "Featuring DA Hood" which was a showcase of everybody he was involved with on the music tip. It sold many copies in the street, and it began to show him as a serious artist in the game
