Sean R. Tamman a.k.a Loc Saint has been making music indiependently for the last 16 years. Loc's musical journey began in the year of 1996. Loc grew up on welfare and in poverty in a single parent household with his mother and disabled brother in the border city of Bellingham Washington on the southside of town. Even with the strong guidance and love from his mother the statistics were stacked against him, and without a father, Loc ran to the streets to raise him starting at a very young age. Loc was 10 years old and surrounded by a neverending barrage of gangs, drugs, violence and street life in full effect. Mandatory neighborhood "checkings" were a daily occurance, pistol whips on the walks to school meant stepping 1 foot out of house was like stepping into a war zone, the torture even went so far as to me and my female cousin being jumped, drug to a house and held down by a grown man to bare witness to the sounds of my cousin being raped in a room next to me. Houses full of crack and heroin needles dangling from armpits as homies mom's did there hair for a night out at the clubs. Loc began feeling thee effects of life in the neighborhood. Being too much for a good-hearted young kid to take in, Loc began to write it all down in songs and poetry and with the use of an old tape deck kaoreoke machine began putting raps on tape with local neighborhood homies. Over the next 2 years Loc became so immursed in the street life that surrounded him everyday that slowly over the course of time it became very natural to him as his heart and persona began to shift and harden at the core. This led to Locs co-operation in drug deals, extreme violent behavior, criminal activity, mental issues, the organization and operation of a clique for order and protection in the neighborhood and faceing 5-10 on an attempted murder charge, all of this and Loc was barely turning 13 years old. In the midst of the drama Loc would write, detailing stories of the struggle of life as seen through his eyes and where he came from. Known for being crazy, one to do what no one else would do, as well as his organizational skills to bring things together and make them happen, Loc earned the street alias Loccapone, he released his first album "Broken Mind" at the age of 15 and went on to self-release 3 more albums under his street name. In the last 16 years of Locs musical journey he has self-released 8 albums and been featured on countless mixtapes, radio shows and various artists albums. Fast forward to 2003, Loc was 18 years old, confused and riddled with depression and anger that had overtaken his life. A love for hate and death became an obsession as a bloodlust had set in over the years leading Loc to countless fights in which even innocence was a target just for sport, all the meanwhile countless psyhciatrists and councelors had diagnosed Loc with a criminal mind, bi-polar disorder and extreme post traumatic stress syndrome and perscribed him numerous medications that seemed to only make things worse. "I remember telling my mom that there was something wrong with me, something seriously wrong with me at least twice a week" says Loc. "It wasnt until this extreme expierience that I had, that I finally realized what was so wrong with me at the time" says Loc. Having Pulled a Lick the night before, tons of money in his pockets and in the worldly sence Loc thought life was good for the time being, as his mother begged him to go to church with her with Locs girlfriend at the time and one of Locs homies, he accepted the request. Sitting in the back row of the church Loc saw the pastor preaching and laying hands on peoples heads praying for them as they hit the ground, Loc began to tell his homie that this was the biggest hoax he had ever seen and proceeded mocking the pastor and laughing. Locs homie challenged Loc to go up front since he had so much to say about it. Loc laughed and said "Watch, i'll do it, and everyones gonna see how fake she is", Loc walked up to
