Bobby Thomas (born April 11, 1987), better known by his stage name, Profa, formly known as Prophecy, is an American rapper and producer based in Silver Spring, Maryland. At the age of 12, he started freestyling through his friendship with producer Marcus Anderson, better known as MA & Amara Diakite, better known as Big Hit. Profa was born on April 11, 1987 in Silver Spring, Maryland where he was raised by his mother. Profa's family lived in the Aspen Hill, Mayland section of Montgomery County. He graduated from Rockville High School in Rockville, Maryland in 2006 before moving to Gaithersburg, Maryland. His stage name is derived from prophecy, an Greek work meaning "a prediction of the future" which was shortened to Profa. He includes Big L, Nas, Notorious B.I.G, Tupac, DMX, Canibus, Jay-Z, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Kanye West & T-Pain among his influences. At age 15, J. Cole had notebooks filled with rhymes but no beats of his own to record them with. His mother bought him a computer and his friend MA showed him how to use FruityLoops so he could produce music himself.
