Tyrone “Ricky” Hopson is an American independent recording artist, songwriter, music producer, studio engineer and musician in multiple genres such as Hip Hop, Rap, Trap, R&B, and Pop. Tyrone is also known professionally by the stage name G³ (God/Gangsta/Genius) and his alter ego S.D.M.M. (SupaDupaMegaMan). G³ was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He first became involved in music when he decided to join his middle school band and drumline in which he continued throughout high school. This sparked his knowledge, interest, and love for music and further inspired him to write, produce, create and perform musical masterpieces of his own.
In 2001, G³ wrote, co-wrote, recorded, produced and released several tracks titled, ‘Big Mouth’, ‘Days Off’, ‘I’m from Tha Lou’ and ‘I Look’s Good’.
In May 2009, G³ received his Associate degree in “Music Production and Technology” from Missouri Western State University in Saint Joseph, Missouri.
In April 2016, G³ released two singles titled, ‘Go Hard or Go Home’ and ‘Out of my Head’ to iTunes, Spotify, AmazonMp3, and several other online distributors of digital music.
Currently G³ is in the process of completing his upcoming album titled, ‘Do We Have a Deal?’ with a release date set for January 12, 2017. Additionally, G³ will also be collaborating with artist Mz. T. Chelle to release two separate music videos for the songs, ‘My Life (Remix)’ and ‘Ride 4 U’ in which he is a featured artist on both collaborations and the producer of the instrumental ‘My Life (Remix)’.
Overall, music is G³’s love, passion and dedication as he believes that it takes hard work to obtain successful results. Two of his favorite quotes are, “The destiny of one’s self resides in thine own hands” and “If one does not stand for something of intellectual or moral value then he or she shall fall for anything of the opposite nature”.
