Blackout is one of Memphis' most legendary producers, known for his track record. Although he is known for collaborations with many different artists, most fans connect him with the bulk of production on all the Playa Fly albums. Blackout is noted for producing Memphis' longest running anthem "Nobody Needs Nobody" featuring Gangsta Blac. He also produced a significant amount of tracks on Gangsta Blac's projects as well. Blackout's credits range from artists such as Terror, Zed Zilla, Lil Flip, Pastor Troy, Tela, Crunk n Buck, Skinny Pimp, Shattered World, Hav Oz., Yung Kee and many more.
Blackout made a name for himself in 1994, locking down Memphis with his unique sound. He gained notoriety by moving a lot of music in neighborhood and local car stereo stores. These tapes included Lil Slim's "Robbery, My Specialty",Playa Posse's "Bigga N Betta Thangz", Guice's "Ashes Off My Blunt", "Maysroad Kartel",and his ever so popular "Dreamworld".
While releasing his underground projects , Blackout collaborated with his cousins Guice and Eli, creating the notorious Snubnoze Muzik label. After they teamed up, this marked the beginning of a flood of releases such as Snubnoze's "Off Safety", including the hit single "Boyz in the Woodz", Terror (self-entitled), which included the Memphis anthem "Yes", featuring Gangsta Blac.
